catalytic converter is blocked?...
What is a catalytic converter supposed to look like?
What is the inside of the converter supposed to look like? I took the pipe after the converter down and looked inside expecting to see a bunch of messed up garbage, but it was just a white wall with horizontal and vertical lines on it. Is this normal? I don't understand hjow exhuast is supposed to get through with a freaking wall there.

you have to bang that stuff hard. At first, it'll feel like you're trying to break through steel. I used a hammer and pipe and wacked at it for a loong time. The more you break through, the easier it gets.
How can I tell by looking if that cat is my problem. When I looked in from the *** end, it looked like nothing was wrong with it. What does it look like when its good? What about when its bad?
I'm not getting any SES light, so I don't know what the problem (bogging) could be, besides the cat.

Do you have a high RPM problem? If not, I doubt it's your cat.

As for bogging, a lot of things can cause that. Plugs (take a few off and look at them), wires, opti, fuel pressure, the list is a lot bigger than that but these are the most common
The only way I could tell mine was bad was the car was bogging really badly one night. I lifted the hood and my exhaust manifolds were starting to glow red. So I took the handle from my 2 1/2 ton floor jack and stuck it in the back of the cat(it was still on the car) and beat the s*it out of it. Then started the car and blew all the stuff out of it. If you don't need one for emissions I would just gut it, it's not that hard and doesn't take too much time.
