Cat Questions

I've done a few search's on cats and all the B.S. but I've got a question of my own.

My car has AS&M headers, with their Y-pipe, and a cat delete, thats the way I got it and with my Borla Adjustable it is Very Poppy, it pops a lot like there is zero backpressure, regardless of which plate I have in the exhaust, even going a blank plate(full muffler) it still pops just as much, just much quieter being that it's muffled.

I was thinking about purchasing a carsound/magnaflow cat, and having it welded up so I can put it on my car, because I was thinking it might take care of the popping, plus I think the car could use a little backpressure since when I put a blank plate in the exhaust the low end is much more responsive and the throttle responce is also much better.

Anyone have any insight on this?

I've checked for exhaust leaks, nothing out of the ordinarly, pinhole on one of borla's factory welds that IMO doesn't let hardly anything out and is very close to the muffler. The car was also poppy with stock manifolds and no plate in the exhaust (basically a strait pipe) but I never tried it with a blank plate at that time.

The car and Mods are in my sig.

Re: Cat Questions

A cat will definatly help smooth out most of the popping. No Cats = popping
