Cat converter Q's

My a/c isn't working and driving with the windows down sux because of the exhaust fumes. Will a 3" cat converter remedy the smell? If so, which one do you recommend?
Thanks.

Cats do reduce exhuast fumes and I would recommend a Car Sound cat or a Magnaflow. Pretty much any will do though.

For awhile, I was just running my headers with the off-road y-pipe. The smell was very putrid. Once I had a pair of minicats welded into the y-pipe, the smell was gone.

It should do the job. Magnaflow makes good cats. Be careful with your tuning though if you still care about performance. If you run too lean the heat will melt the substrate inside the cat and plug it.
