cat back question?

Will a Borla cat back from an LS1 F-body fit an LT1 F-body. I thought they were pretty much the same from there back, but maybe I'm wrong.

thanks

Joe

the SLP LM requires an adaptor kit to fit an LT1 so there must be a difference.

They are different--recently I purchased a used '98 system to put on my '95 TA. I knew it wouldn't be a direct bolt up, but the deal was just too good to pass up. The problem that you run into is that the hangers on either side of the catback won't match up with the stock brackets. I ended up going to Autozone and purchased 3 different type of hangers. Then I just mixed and matched pieces until I was able to make everything fit. The pass. side bracket was pretty easy--just re-arranged the stock bracket. The driver's side was where you'll have to get creative. Then I just used two hangers to hold the tips in place. It's rock solid now. As far as the intermediary pipe, Combination Motorsports and Thunder Racing sell an S-Pipe kit for around $80 that will match it to your stock system.

Good luck!

95RagtopTA,

I couldn't find this 'S-Pipe' you mentioned on either site. I've got a great deal on an LS1 Borla setup and need to know that I can make this work. Thanks for any hlp you can give me...

HERE is the link at Thunder Racing--item 99-S. This converts a dual cat system to a single cat system (which is what I have). Not sure if it would work for you. Best thing to do is give them a call--good people to talk to. I think your best bet will be to get a custom intermediate pipe made.
