I'm sure they would since the Impalla SS uses them. But why would you want to do that?

Why wouldn't you? If you plan on keeping stock heads and possibly spraying a 100-125 shot the cast heads will work better. They also out flow aluminum heads stock for stock...

because aluminum heads have tons of advantages that outweigh the small flow increase, like the tremendous weight difference.

I can't think of any reason the iron heads would offer any advantage over an aluminum head when spraying a 100-125 shot.... I spray 300 on an LT4 head. And the lower head temps with aluminum will help in avoiding detonation, both NA and on the spray. Typically you can run more spark advance with an aluminum head. Minor porting will bring the LT1 aluminum head up to or beyond the iron heads. And no weight penalty.

You mean advantages like pulling more heat out of the chamber , ANY AND ALL heat not used to drive the piston is flat out wasted. On the more timing being OK with aluminum, more timing means more pressure before the piston reaches TDC which is again counter productive, not saying we should run zero advance, but as little as possible to make the most power is the balancing game you need to play. The heat retention abilities of iron are why aluminum NEEDS more compression to make the same power iron would have otherwise. Not saying irons are the best, the later aluminums caught up flow wise so then it is a question of does the weight benifit of aluminum outweight the thermal benifit of iron frankly I don't know, and in a seperate discussion on this topic one guy in this thread said he planned to coat the aluminum chamber to negate the thermal differences so maybe that is the ultimate answer.

Oh and atljar I will send a PM, if Zachz28 doesn't take those I would like them.
