cash to go fast

ok, im new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated
i have a 95 lt1 camaro, no power options, no aircondioner, no t- tops, it has close to 90k on the odometer, i live near pittsburgh pa, i was wondering what i can do to my motor for around 6 thousand, i was sorta leaning toward a ATI procharger but im worried that i will just end up doing more damage then good, (i have a slight tapping noise in the passenger side head) i was considering a stroker motor but i dont have to nessessary tools to do the job, i do know what i am doing around a engine compartment. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

yessss

ok thanx for the suggestions but if i go the ported head and cam way, will the stock bottom end hold up, i know you guyz get this question a million times but im will to spend a little bit more if i can find a good shop in the PA area to do a 383 rebuild, and how much power can i expect to find from ported lt1 heads vs AFR headS?

Get yourself a good CAI(K&n fipk, SLP, Moroso, any true CAI). Then either get a cutout or a good catback. Then get some headers. LT's if you don't have emissions. If you do then you gotta figure out which headers you could get away with. If you do the LT's a lot of people are doing the true duals. It seems pretty popular. Then get yourself a good cam(this also is gonna depend on if you have emissions), get your heads ported at the same time. Depending on your setup there you should be makeing some good power.

If you have a manual tranny get yourself a short shifter like a pro 5.0. If you have a auto get a good Stall Converter, and a shift kit would be good. I would also get some 4.10 gears if its a manual, and 3.73's if its an auto.

Lastly at this time you are definatly gonna need some Drag Radials to help put the power to the ground. It is also advised to get some SFC's. They are a great mod. With all that done along with a good tune up. Whatever money you have left save it for when you need a 12 bolt rear end.

afr heads, comp cam u choose ur weapon, intake, headers, exaust, definetly 12 bolt with either 3.73 or 4.10's, et streets, if auto expect a rebuild shortly after, go with a stall 3200 or so, and if thats not enough put a 100 shot on the b***h and call it a day. Just expect for major repair bills to come ur way after modding the hell out of it because stuff seems to break rather quickly afterwards. After all this ur aproaching 6 g's easily.

Geeze man....with 6k to spend you could go almost everything aside from a complete engine rebuild and mods. I would leave out the SC and go with everything else. If you only have 6k I wouldn't do the stroker unless your gonna do it yourself and even then you will need a new Tb, injectors, head work, tranny beef up and stuff to compliment the stroker.

I would go with the other stuff mentioned though. Such as headers, cam, torque converter, heads and all the other bolt ons.

Do some searching. As an engine builder once told me, "80% planning, 20% doing."

Cai-150
Headers(longtubes, xpipe, o2's, extensions,etc)-1000
Cam and all new valvetrain-1000
Heads/intake (stage two or a good port with new vavles)-1500
electric cutout-150
suspension-(lca,stb,sfc,pan,tq arm)-800
12 bolt rear-2000
trans or clutch- the rest.
Provided things all went good you could be building a 400rwhp car. Or it could end up less, but all of the prices I listed would not include the labor. It would also have to be tuned.
