Cars w/ GM847 and P&P Heads

What is done to your car and what did you dyno?

I have been seeing a lot of different numbers being thrown around lately and a lot of different projections for my car. Just want to get a grasp of what I should be looking at to make power wise.

Here is a list of what is don/being done to my car:

Stage II P&P CNC'd LT1 Heads
GM847
Comp Magnum 1.52 rockers
Pace Setter LT's
3.73's
BUILT 4L60E

That's basically all that matters... and a little go go juice, but that doesn't matter for this.

I'd hope for at least 400rwhp. Mine made the power in the sig with just the cam. Good luck!

Re: Cars w/ GM847 and P&P Heads

I installed mine when I had my 383 built. I have no numbers yet. I just got it running a month ago and have not dynoed yet. I can tell you though that I like the set up and I think it performs real well. Almost everyone seems to be going with the Loyd combos lately and if I hadn't gotten such a good deal on this cam from Bunker, I would have cosidered a Loyd combo myself. My heads are ported out pretty good to feed the cam. You are talking stock cubes right? And you really should run 1.6 rockers to get the full effect of the cam, IMO.

(GTP-6) No idea on #'s as of yet. Heads flow almost exactly like most Lloyd heads I've seen posted up.

I'd be happy with numbers near what other folks with similar setups are putting down. Just need to get her tuned.

Well it should make close to 400rwhp but my old CC306 is doing alot better than those 847's I have seen. I haven't dynoed but have been 11.24@120.8mph with a 3,500lb car and 3.42's in the rear. Goodluck later Clint

What about Altjar's car? 847 cam with stock heads running high 11s. I'm not knocking your car its running awesome but the 847 performes very well too.

What about it? He ran 4.30 gears and probably lighter and only ran 11.98 one time. I have been 11.20's@120mph quite a few passes and try a set of LT1 heads on his car and see if it runs 11.20's. Possible but not easy. Later

Re: Cars w/ GM847 and P&P Heads

Why the hating? His car is full weight (3600lbs) and yeah, he has 4.30s, but its a stick car. Not a TH350 with a stall. Plus, his car was a stock bottom end too, not a freshened up motor. Could it run 11.20s with a set of heads? I'd say so, and I'd think the mph would be up there too, maybe even a bit higher. Your combo kicks ***, but it appears that you aren't quite confident in it if you have to put someone else's setup down.

I saw you should hit in the 380s, its an auto not a six speed wont be a dyno monster.

Re: Cars w/ GM847 and P&P Heads

mine put down 363/349 with some tuning problems.
You must consider the numbers will be lower than expented with an auto and a stall.
I think if I got a good dyno tune it would be closer to the 400 mark.

I have mildly ported LT1 heads. 2.0/1.6 valve job. 1.6 r.r., built A4, 3000 stall, pacesetters, ory.
