cars missing

the cylinders are still missing in my 96 z28 camaro. the spark plugs have recently been replaced. along with all plug wires. fuel injectors recently replced but car is still missing. In idle the rpms go up and down and when you gas it the whole car starts to shake. check engine light is still on. havent had a chance to hook it up to a scanner. also the check engine light starts to flash when going oer 35mph when the engine starts to miss. any ideas on where to go from here woulkd be great

Mine will do the same thing from time to time. I think mine is a Bad Opti.

Someone also said to check the ICM.

But bad Opti would be my guess and the first thing to try.

Good luck

First thing is to get the SES codes pulled. Is the car a '92? If it is, the codes can be flashed be shorting out the pins in the ALDL port.

A signature telling us about your car would really help us when diagnosing things.

A flashing SES light indicates multiple cylinder misfires on an OBD2 car, which a 96 is. Since you've changed the opti, plugs, wires and injectors, there doesn't seem to be much left to change.....

Misfires are either electrical or fuel related. Start by checking all electrical connections involving the OPTI (the connector wire is a common source of problems) and those around the coil and ICM. Clean all grounds you come across. Check all connectors at the fuel injectors and check to make sure they're on the right cylinders. I'm not trying to be insulting but it has happened. To help us, the cylinder number is moulded right into the connector.

If you still have the issue, and you haven't changed the fuel filter, go ahead and do so. You might have the proper pressure at the fuel rail at idle but not have adequate flow for the engine under load.

After you've given this stuff a try, give us the results. If it isn't fixed, doing this stuff and still having the problem will trigger someones thoughts.

Good Luck,
