Your joking right? Do you run 8s in the 1/4, doubt you do, thus going to carb would be by far the dumbest thing. You can make so much power of an LT1, the big cary computer is juts another thing that can be tuned.

Although a carbed 4th gen car would be neat, Stick with fuel Injection.

I spent the past year putting a '73 400 circle track motor in my '95 3.4L 5-speed. The project was very expensive and I encountered numerous problems. I used a TH350 so I had to get the Jegster torque arm which allowed me to use any tranny and greatly reduce/illiminate wheel hop, the motor mounts had to be custom made and I had to remove and cut out where my middle windshield wiper used to be to clear the velocity stack for the air cleaner. Also because of the tight clearances there is not enough room for a distributer so I went with the points system coming off the crank, which cost around $1000 for all the extra MSD crap to make it work. Also I had to get a 8" cowl hood to clear my air cleaner. The result was a faster than stock SS 6-speed. But all good things never last and between forgetting to put the hood pins in and finding out the hardway, while racing on the highway, to cracking the block on the 400, I'm getting there. I have recently built a '64 327/325hp motor with a very nasty cam. This combo runs absolutely unbelievable, the 327 revs so incredible fast and with running a Holley 650 Avenger series with Hooker comp long tubes and turn downs the effect is mind numbing 7000 RPM power. Unforunately I'm totally sick of the 3-speed 'cause sitting at 4500 RPM doin 70 on the highway to go race sucks ***** with dynomax bullets for "mufflers". BTW I would never recommend this mod to anyway, it's cool because now it's very easy to make faster with simple mods and no tuning, but for the money and hassle, get a damn blower.

95' Original 3.4L 5-speed
currently 64' 327 3-speed auto, still slower than it should be.

IMO, thats taking a step backwards. Fuel injection owns carbs.

rebuild kit? all it is a small block chevy on the bottom end

your motor "broke" a ring? how so? who told you? how do you know? you may not need a "rebuild" our internalls are basically SBC. and making 375 is easy with a heads and cam and a pcmforless tune if your worried about the cpu. your better off rebuilding the lt1 by far.
