ummm...im sorry i wasnt trying to find sympothy i was jsut explainging my story..there have been mroe stupid stories than this..for example a kid in his wrx doing a 110 around a turn clips a parked truck and kills the passsnger and becomes paralized for his life...that is immature....yea there were 3 cars inclding me on at that light and the highway is pretty big...but i was mistaken i wouldnt have thought less than me hitting that truck...and im not looking for sympathy, i just wanted to tell what u happen cause im a friednly person and liek to tell and ask n e thing to anyone on these baords cause yall do help me out on problems with my car such as SHOEBOX, he was a grreat help and i thank him for that...(ignition switch) well n e ways..i will show yall pics if you want to see them..im sure that you will be explaining oneday on here when u wreck your car (which i hope u dont cause it isnt fun)

thanks to the people who have respect for me....o and its a tow truck driver i like to call them toads, or voltures, well n e wayz!!the cops here in missouri city are not here to protect teenagers maybe protect 60+ years of aged people...if you lived here you would understand, cops are different every where u go!!!

I'm not trying to knock you personally, I was just stating that your actions before and after the wreck were very inappropriate.

And, believe me, I'm not calling the kettle black by any means. I've been in similar situations before. I just had to learn the hard way like a lot of people do. Plus I didn't have collision insurance any of the times, so it was all out-of-pocket for me.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that you accept responsibility, and I know how heated things can get at certain times like that. Just hope you learned from this experience and will try to be a little more careful in the future.

The shop I hear GOOD things about is DAVID TAYLOR CADILLAC....

If insurance is paying for it, take it there. I've had bad luck at too many places, and heard good things about the body shop at David Taylor Cadillac.

I know that airbags are VERY expensive to have replaced and re-armed. The hood if it's not too damaged may be able to be salvaged. You'll just have to talk to them about it, and see if they think it can be fixed.

I'd say you're probably looking at around $3500 without the airbags. Of course I don't have that much experience with F-Body parts so most of it was an estimation...

 

3500$$ not that much....just looked under kbb car is worth 6,015$$ so as long as that repair price dont go over 6...also im going to have to get the car reapainted!! and then im prob going to have to take a look at the engine to make sure nothing is wrong with it besides the radiator!! you think hitting the car around15-20mph will cause internal damage to the engine?

 

that is not 3500 worth of damage, in my toyota T100 i hit an suv head on, at about 20 mph, and i had a busted radiator and messed up the bumper, grill, hood, right front panel, left front panel, and i think that was it.

it was about $7000... but the trucks value now is about 3-5k and was about 6k then 1993 truck i did this last summer

although our cars have fiberglass parts and no crome bumper, it may be cheaper, but u messed up the back too so i know it'll probably be expensive, they will think about it being totaled... but if u let them know u want it repaired they may give u 6015$ and tell u to fix what means most to u...

just let them know ur gonna keep the car

 

I really doubt you had any serious internal engine damage, but it'd be a good idea to check and make sure nothing shifted after that hit. I'm sure the motor mounts probably absorbed most of the shock. If I were you, I'd be more worried about the frame being warped.

Also, if you're gonna take it to a Cadillac body shop, I'd expect to pay much more than just a regular, run of the mill shop. I'd get quotes from as many body shops as I could that are in you're area. You can pretty much see the quality of their work by looking at some of the other vehicles in their bays, but I'd say any reputable body shop has probably had plenty of experience throwing F-bodies back together.

I would order most of the parts I needed myself, and then have the body shop put them on and paint them. A lot of places charge outrageous finders fees on parts they get out of their buddies junkyards.

Go to Car Parts Online and look up all the parts you think you'll need, (i.e. bumper assembly, hood, quarter panel, etc.)

I gaurantee you'll get them for a whole lot cheaper that way.
