my car runs great and usually cranks right up however ever so often im guessing one outta ten times it wont turnover first try... when it does its fine... security system maybe? help

 

check battery posts and alternator .. i would check that first before anything and does your security light stay on while driving? if so that might have something to do with it as a guy came to my shop a few days ago complaining about his car giving him trouble and when i pulled it into the bay i noticed the security light was on... my *** hole manager stepped in and messed with it so im not 100% that it was the light but i got a feeling it was...

my manager knows im a camaro nut job so he likes to **** me off when they come in .. its kinda childish i know but hell i go to iraq soon so i dont let his bs bother me

 

First.... you need to add a "signature", with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans type and any major mods. If no mods, state "stock". I don't think this is the first time this has been suggested.

Next, you need to define what "turnover" means to you. To some people it means the starter cranks the engine. "Won't turn over" indicates the starter does nothing. To others, it means the starter cranks the engine, and the engine attempts to start, but will not fully start.

Next, indicate whether the problem is affected by coolant temp, ambient temp, how long its been since the car was last run, etc.

 

its not security ive had that problem before and am aware of that
