Ok so i park my car after lunch and an hour later it will not start. I turn the key to start and everything turns on like normal, but the starter doesnt work. I noticed my security light was on so i got a ride home got my second key and it still didnt work, got the security light again. So i went home again got my Laptop with LT1_edit and disabled the vats. The car will now start, but not on the first turn of the key. I have to turn it to start, back to on the position, then to start again quckly and it starts fine with no security light. Any ideas? I dont know if it is realated to vats or not, i tried my OBD2 PCM without it disabled and it does the same thing. Every 10th try or so the Security light does come on and i have to wait for it to go off then it will start. Ive tried both my sets of keys and neither make a difference. I always starts the second time i bump the starter.

I did a search on disabling vats and i tried jumping the wires on the relay and it didnt help at all, still doing the same thing.

 

OK, so i jumped the wires on the correct relay and now the car seems to be starting fine. Im still confused why i had to jump any wires anyway. Souldnt it not matter if the pellet works or not since its been disabled in the PCM?
