Car won't start please help

I have a 96 Trans Am. I swapped out the opti now the car just turns over and won't start. It doesn't feel like it's catching and trying to start. I did the screwdriver test and got spark out of the wire to the plug. I double checked all my wiring harness'. I smell fuel, and even tried a little starting fluid still nothing. I took a few plugs out and there smelt like fuel. Any info or ideas on what you might think it is would be great!! Thanks -Kyle-

you made sure to put the opti on the correct way. lining up the cam dowel pin to the correct location on the opti drive shaft?

I'm 99% sure I put it in the correct slot. Is it possible to put the dowl pen in the wrong slot without forcing it on? Thanks for the suggestion anymore?

yes, I used to hear it a lot on the form. The link show you were the dowel must go. there are 3 slots it can fit into, but only 1 is correct.
