Car won't start, need help!!

The car already has 85k miles and I just got a distributor put on a couple months ago. When trying to start the engine turns over put wont fully start. I know it isnt the battery because lights come on and battery gauge comes to almost full. Am thinking it could be either the alternator, fuel inj., or fuel pump. Any ideas on what to do?

If the starter spins it ok, then check for spark and then fuel pressure with a test gauge if necessary.

You could check the coil wire to make sure it's fully seated (was the coil replaced with the distributor?). The ignition module is another possible culprit if the coil itself was replaced. I haven't personally had problems with the fuel pump so I can't say much on that...

Its probably not the alternator, sounds like a spark problem. My mom's alternator went out a bout 3 weeks ago and the RPM gauge jumped around repeatedly every 1/8 of a second, it was constantly moving. Then, when we jumped it, it cranked over but as soon as I removed the cables it died. Reason being the alternator wasn't charging the car up while the battery was draining it down.
