its probably your starter solenoid going out. keep trying to start it, it should eventually start and be all fine. i have the same problem.
if this is your problem, then you can do what i do until you replace the thing. i pulled out the clutch safety switch so that i can reach under the dash and squeeze it my self. that way i can push in the clutch, hold the key in the start position and keep squeezing the switch over and over until it kicks on.

I don't hear the fuel pump. I don't think it is the battery, because the lights come on just fine, stereo works, etc. I went under the car and wacked the starter and it still wouldn't start. When I go to turn it over...nada happens. It happened to me a couple of weeks ago and I let it sit over night and the next day after a little while, it started. What's weird, is that for for a couple of weeks it starts up just fine...then it just goes back to the s.o.s. Of course it had to die when the two guys across the street, who both have mustangs, witnessed the mishap...and they just said, "yeah right, fix or repair daily my a$$." If ya'll think it's the starter, then I'll just order the lt4 from cromer. Let me know.
Thanks,
John

Re: Car won't start!!Need Help!!
you need a new ignition switch...... i had a 92 RS with the same ignition switch they use in these cars, and every once in a while it used to take a second of having the ignition depressed before it would turn over, then one day it wouldnt turn at all..... turned out that the security module in the ignition switch went out, and the car wont start without it!!!! check it out...... its worth a shot
also, you may want to check the wiring to the starter.... but i think its the switch...

Dang thing started right up, as if it never happened. I will definately look at the ignition switch, it sounds like something is either going bad or not connected fully. Where exactly is the switch located?? Thanks, hopefully I can save myself some money.
