Car wont start, ignition switch??

On my 95 Z28, sometimes i will turn the key to start the car and all the accessories and power goes on, but the starter doesn't click at all and the car doesn't start. I have a remote start on my car, so I start it up with the remote, and it starts fine. I have a brand new starter, what part is malfunctioning or making a loose connection? Thanks

It seems to me there would have to be another relay inline so that your remote starter would function. That relay could have 2 inputs, one from the remote and the other from the ignition switch. If it does, it could be that there is a connection problem from the switch to that relay. Perhaps a quick check for the wiring from the switch would be in order. Eliminate a connection problem before doing any replacement.

You didn't mention in your signature if you have A4 or M6. If M6 you deffinately have another relay to bypass the clutch switch. Look for the yellow wire coming down the steering column with a bunch of other wires. NOT the ones in the yellow tubing. This yellow wire is hot when the key is in the start (crank) position. Check it to see the switch is working correctly.

On a side note, I noticed you have a 160 stat. Did you change the temp that the fans come on?? If not the stat doesn't do a thing.

Could be a dirty key.
