Car wont start help please!
I just has my engine rebuilt and finally got done installing it and wiring everything up but it wont start, the mechanic who built the engine came over and he thinks its a ground wire somewhere. He did something with the starter while under the car and it started to turn over but besides that whenever I try to start it, it just like clicks. Please help me
have u tried putting a booster box to it and adding some more amps?? cuz i know i had my starter rebuilt twice and it didnt help until i changed the opti and put a bigger battery in the car. but u might just need more cranking amps.
You're saying the starter did not turn the engine at all? Then the mechanic did something to the starter and now the starter will crank the engine, but the engine still will not start? Is that correct?
Make sure the battery is good. Make sure there is no corrosion on the battery terminals, or in the stranded battery wires. Check the starter wiring. Check the system voltage while the starter is turning. A starter that draws excessive power can pull down the battery voltage to the point where the PCM can't control the enigne. Check voltage via the PCM (requires a scanner) to make sure the PCM is getting adequate voltage.
Scan the PCM for codes. Check the fuel pressure. Pull a plug wire and hold it near the block to verify you are getting spark.
