Car won't start fixed: Lessons learned (CC306) and no beer payout
For all those who said it was my opti. That I put it on wrong or the like. It turned out to be the coil. I decided to replace it with my stock one before I started the huge task of the opti. I even bought the opti and have it in my garage. So as for that, I pay myself a case of beer.
Lessons learned: CC306 cam is big. Braking is definitely a task from under 10 mph. After 10mph it slows down nicely. My MAP causes my SES light to come on when just toting around at idle but at speed it goes off. Code 33 on scanmaster. A torque converter and gears is needed for this cam. Torque converter at the least. I have PCM4less programming that is good. The shifts are hard and my idle is at about 800. It doesn't stall out but to get it moving from a start takes until about 2000 rpm. It runs alot better with the programming, and cleaner than the stock program. I will definitely need to be careful in the car until I get my TC which will be ordered this week.
Some people have flamed and said it was stupid to do a 306 wiht all the stock stuff I have but I tried something different. Sue me. I am happy with the way it pulls from 3k and the real test will be the dyno and the track. Hopefully it gives me some good results. This weekend will be track day. All I need to do is readjust the rockers.
Thanks to everyone that has helped with all my questions. In particular.
Shoebox, Grease, Gary95Z28, Jpolz, Aanik. I know Im missing people but I appreciate it.
