Car won't start .. crap crap crap
Car won't start after heavy rainfall
I pulled in after dropping the kids off at Sunday school this morning
washed it and put it in the garage and dried her off.
She seemed fine.
I did however drive in some pretty heavy rain and plow though a few
deep puddles on the way home.
(My car has a ram air hood with the baffles still in place)
10 hours later, I go to start it and it shakes hard bit won't start.
I check the oil and find no oil on the dipstick.
I added 1.5qt and it filled right up.
No sign of oil on the driveway or under the car in the garage.
I check the coolant, fearing the worst and it looks full.
The coolant is green and thin, the way it should be.
No sign of oil.
I pull the air filter and find water behind it.
White some puffs out. Not much, but enough to make me suspicious.
Oil catch can has a little oil in it, no more than usual.
I drain the oil, just in case it's a milkshake.
It comes out dark, I see bubbles, but it doesn't look like the classic milkshake.
I left the cap off the coolant, but don't see any bubbles.
Now what?
Just let it sit overnight and hope any water in there dries up?
If water did get in, and it did go into hydrolock, what else could I look for?
I suppose my next step should be to pull the sparkplugs.

That night removed the plugs to make sure there was no water in there.
I put in new oil and a fresh filter.
If there was any water in there, it was very little.
I was then able to crank it over by hand a full 360*
But when I replaced the plugs and tried to start the car, it just
cranked over and fired a huge orange flame out the throttle body
(which was unfortinate since I was leaning over the car looking at the
tockers to make sure my timing chain was in one peice at the time)
I suppose backfiring it better than hard knocking.
Solution : Bad Opti
