Angry Car won't start ASAP

Alright, I just bought this car. The guy put a new water pump in. Yesturday the car started right up and drive fine. Earlier today I tried starting it and it took like 2 tries. Now (about 1/2 hour ago) the car just will not fire. Turns over fine but no firing. I called the guy and said it might be a ground. I checked the right head and there is a stud and there is suppose to be 2 grounds on the stud. Well the grounds weren't on it cuz I guess the nut that holds them on fell off. Well I just slid the grounds on the stud without a nut to hold them down and still nothing. The guy is coming up to try and help me fix the problem, hopefully something stupid. I'm so stressed out right now and discouraged I'm going to explode. I just bought this car and it ran fine yesturday and now it won't even f*ckin start, just my luck. Can anyone give me some needed help. Thanks

follow this from HBHracing (a member ont his board) he did a GREAT job of working through the whole ignition check. i did the whole think in 30 minutes and found my problem which saved a lot of money instead of plug and chug method

that car was out of gas. The freakin fuel gauge was off. Empty is now 1/2 way between 1/4 and E. Is there an easy way to fix this so it doesn't happen again?

alot of our gas gauges dont work properly, looks like u will just have to watch your mileage and learn to judge your tank better
