Car won't start
Car won't start
I just got done replacing the water pump and opti in my 97. Well, I went to start it today to bleed the cooling system, and it will not start. I checked my plugs on the opti, and they are in the correct order. I have to clue why it won't start. Can someone give me advice on how to check if the opti I bought is actually any good? I bought it off a fellow board member. Thanks for any help!
Re: Car won't start
You put something back wrong or not at all.
Check all the wiring that was removed to be sure when you reconnected it one of the pins wasn't bent or broke. If all that looks good, I suggest you put a cylinder that is easy to get to the plug, at TDC. Then remove the cap from the opti and see if the rotor contact is facing the position of the cap contact for that cylinder.
For example, number 3 contact inside the cap is at the 11 o'clock position. With cylinder 3 at TDC, the rotor should be facing 11 O'clock. Give or take a few mm's.
