Car wont start
Car wont start
And the hits keep coming. In my life when it rains it pours, forever. Today I had the oprotunity to get some datalogs using Freescan and TTS Datascanner. Everything went fine, I did some runs then came home. 8 hours later I go to start the car up and nothing. The dash lights, headlights, everything works but when I turn the key I get absolutly nothing. The car wont turn over or nothing. First thing I think is mabey the battery connection is loose, it's tight. Though it's dark I looked over everything and all seemed well so I dont know what the hell the problem is. All I did was log some runs. Could I have fried or damaged the computer somehow by using the datalogging software? What else should I check and would any of the obd1 diagnoses crap I have on my Laptop do anything for me at the moment to help figure out why this POS wont start?

Re: Car wont start
When I fried my PCM the starter still turned over the motor just didn't start, because the PCM doesn't touch the starter circuts... Sounds to me that your battery is dead, or something else in the starter circut.. First thing you need to do is check voltage...
Your starter could have just died and have nothing to do with the data logs..

Re: Car wont start
Well Ive tried jumping it, I tried a new battery, I tried reading the codes, NOTHING. It wont even attempt to turn over. When I turn the key the radio goes black and it draws a slight charge but the engine and starter does absolutlty nothing. Even if the starter was bad I would think it would still try to turn over.

This just happened to me!!!!!!!!!! It was a broken wire in the steering column that connects to the lock cylinder. Every time you turn the key, this wire moves a bit back and forth until it just breaks off. It's a tiny wire and it's no wonder it is such a problem on these cars. Same thing - battery good, all lights come on, turn the key and nothing. We jumped the solenoid and it started and stayed running as long as the screwdriver was connecting the terminals at the starter. Check this out first!
