Car wont crank...possible alarm issue?

I just swapped in a new starter, so obviously my battery was disconnected.

I hooked the battery back up, and immediately the hazard lights started flashing, and the car started making this "ding ding" sound, similar to the "key in ignition" sound, but with a closer interval.

I have lights, radio, wipers..all the accessories work, but the car WILL NOT crank.

If I leave the car alone for about 3 minutes, the hazards stop, and the sound stops too, but as soon as I open the door again, it starts back up.

I should mention theres a small red LED on my dash, just to the right of the headlight/foglight/dimmer switches -I dont know if its factory or not. Now the light continually flashes, when it never used to flash.

Does anyone have any idea whats going on here?

Thanks in advance,
Dave
