Car will not Idle
Car will not Idle
I recently swaped in a 93 355 LT1 into my 90 RS. I am experiencing some problems. The car will not sit and idle at all. If I let off the gas it will die. Car has pcmforless tuning installed, 230-236 cam, 3200 vig, headers, and stock 22#injectors. At idle the car ruchs extemely rich, it will burn your eyes if you stand by it. Fuel pressure is set at 37psi with the line off. Also to add to this problem the drivers side cylinders are burning very hot while the passenger sidw doesn't heat up much. WHat should I look at O2's, tuning, coil, knock module? I have checked and double checked everything with no help someone please help me out.

Sounds similar to a problem I had. My car wouldn't start, so I replaced the ICM with a Wells ICM. Then the car would start but would not idle below 1500. Also my passenger side manifold would GLOW at night after driving, and I mean it was Red, whereas the driver's side was normal. So I thought there was another problem. The short story is that I finally bought a GM ICM and that fixed the problem.
Also wanted to add that the plugs keep getting fouled as well. They are NGK TR-55. This set fouled after about 5 minutes of run time. I had better luck with stock replacement Autolight 606's which lasted about a week. Also opti is new, wires are new, plugs new. I will try to pull codes and hope my wiring job works like it should. I have no engine light but will chedck it out anyway.
neversummer I will check out the ICM, and is there anyway to test it?

ICM= Ignition Control Module
Maybe your coil is not putting out much fire. Does it have any power off idle?

It seems to rev okay off idle but not as smooth as it should be. I will see if I can borrow a friends coil and ICM from his 94 Z28. I know his are good so I will see if mine are as well. Thanks so far and if I find anything out I will let you know.
Changed the ICM and coil and it got a little better. Still having the same problem though. Also checked out TPS voltage and it was right on. Could an O2 cause one bank to burn extemely rich and the other to burn correct? I am going to change my drivers side O2 to see if it corrects anything.
