Car is very hard to get into 6th gear! What is messed?

Car is very hard to get into 6th gear! What is messed?
All of a sudden it is very had to shift into 6th. I have pull real hard to get it into gear. It doesn't grind or kick out, just feels like a bungie cord is attached to it. What are the possibilities here?
