car turning off when driving. Help i don't want to die.

When i got my car the wire going from the battery to the alt was spliced. It came apart one day when i was driving and i lost all electrical power (and of cource the engine too). I spliced it back together and soldered the heck out of it. But just now the car quit again just long enough to stall the engine and then came back on. I pulled over and now the car is hard to start, but when it starts, it runs fine. Could this be opti related or is it a bad connection somewhere. What other connections could cause this?

thanks

The bad connection will screw up the voltage going to your PCM, and nothing will run right. I just recently had the same problem and am going to replace the whole positive battery cable. I don't like to mess with electrics any more than I have to.

I got mine at a local Pontiac dealer. Any GM parts department will be able to get it for you, if they do not already have it in stock. If you want the best price and can wait a couple of days for the shipping, call Jason Cromer. He is the parts manager at a Cadillac dealer in Florida, and he will give you the best price on any GM part. Just mention that you heard about him on CZ28.com. His number is (850) 243-8826.

FYI I paid around $52 for it, but Jason will likely get it to you for less. I just couldn't wait myself.
