Question car trys to start when i plug my battery back in.. quick help needed

Well i just finished installing my hooker shorties (PITA!!!!!!) My dad and I did this and he put the starter back on. Did he put the wires on wrong? I just finished my wiring and put everything back together so I wanted to crank it up to hear open headers on my car. (cat threads are messed up) So i went to plug in the - battery cable and as soon as it touches, the motor tries to start. I guess it wont start because the fuel pump isnt on from no key in the iginition.

But anyways weird did my dad go wrong on the starter? He doesnt get come till late so I wanted to try to find out what was wrong so we would know exactly what to fix. Guess i gotta take the ypipe off again!

BTW I will never install headers on an LT1 again!!!!!!! whata pita

I did the exact same thing when I changed my plugs and wires way back when. Make sure the wires on the starter are not touching each other...the little one (I think it's purple) likes to spin around and contact the other wires. That's what your problem is.
