ok it all started after work 2night. it didnt get above 32 here today and my car had not been started in 10 hours. i got in and put the key in and the usual lights came on, put the key in the on position and everything cut off. dome light and everything. waited 30 seconds and light came back on and it started up fine. drove home and it sat for about 2 hours. came out to start it up and put the key in on position and everything cut off again. wouldnt start back up this time!! so i thought maybe it was the battery tried to jump it and nothing. so finally after a while lights in car and dash came back on and it started back up...but started up really weak. drove down the street and the idle dropped to 500. thought the car was gonna bog out. it ran fine in gear but in neutral it would go down to about 500. pulled in to get gas and the idle went back up in neutral, sat for about 3 minutes, filled it up with about 6 gallons. got back in and started it up and it roared like normal. the idle was fine then. no problems. drove around for a while and everything was good. now im back home and havent started it since. im hoping this was just a "phase". anybody got any clues?

 

The first thing I would check is the alternator. You can have it tested at any auto parts store. Whith the car running what voltage is is on the gauge. Mine showes 13.5-14 volts. If you start it and the gauge stays around 12 or lower get it checked. Another possibilty is a loose or bad ground. Check the alernator first. Good luck!

were u low on gas? u might be lookin at clogged fuel injectors, or also take a look at your batter terminals. they could need to be tightened.
