Opti's are weird like that, mine went during a drive in wet weather. I recently replaced it and the problem went away. I had a stumble, miss and detonation. Its hard to say what it is considering how many people have similar problems and everytime it ends up being something different. Try plugs/wires first, then maybe move on to the opti. But beware, even though the opti install was easy, it was time consuming. Also check out some of the recent threads on issues similar to yours, it might have your answer.

ok...thanks for your posts.....the reason i wondered if the opti had gotten wet is cause it started stumbling the day it rained so hard.....but it also feels just liek when my camaros plugs and wires started to fail....it was really bad today ....stumbled then got over it ....but its doing it so bad if i put my foot down nothing or it lurches into gear...my brother is gonna do my plugs this weekend ...i am so lucky to have him ....i hope thats it ...thanks again

good plan sounds like you have, I'd consider doing the wires too maybe, might have overlooked whether or not you did recently. OPTIs do hate monsoon rainstorms, but I'd also consider doing your 02 sensors if it's been over 10,000 miles, some folks go forever on a set, others don't, but they can make a big difference if they are bad or going out.

Good luck.
