Car stored during winter, should I start once in while or not?
i usaully start mine up once a week about every sunday and let it idle for about 30 min every once in a while maybe longer...b4 i shut it off i give it a few revs...not ure if this really matter but hey who can give up hearing the sounds of a 350
Yeah, I forgot about some of that other stuff. I only start it in the spring, and I store it with a full tank with some gas stabilizer, and I also roll the car forward or back every couple of weeks to keep flat spots off the tires.
Like I said, it's worked great so far. (7 years)

I start my 95 Firebird only if the roads are clean and dry so I can drve it and make sure its warmed up real good. If I know its going to snow, I take it out and drive it if the roads are dry, because I know it will be sitting for a while. I keep a battery trickle charger on it so it will start.
The 67 Camaro does not get started, but I have a pressure luber(cut off distributor) to turn the oil pump with. I go out every week or two and run the pressure luber and roll the engine over with a wrench. I also back off the valve springs to help prevent tension loss.

If you have to start it, make certain the car gets up to operating temperature (oil too) before you shut it off, otherwise you can be leaving condensation (water) in your oil and your exhaust system -- rust..
but it's your car... do whatever you want..

DING DING DING!!! This guy has it right! *exactly* what I do... Except the water in the exhaust thing... that always happens, it is a byproduct of the combustion process.
It is harmful to the engine to start it. If it is stored properly there is NO need.
A little off topic...but.. I've always wanted to install a pre-oil system on my car.
