i have a 96 z28. ive been having misfires for the last 5 months or so now. first i changed the opti, then i did the msd wires and coil. it is still misfiring but not nearly as bad. the performance shop i took it to say its now possibly a bent pushrod or valve springs. any ideas as to what else it could be???

 

Do a search for "mystery miss" and read all about my saga. You should get tons of ideas for things to check other than what you've already replaced.

 

thx, that search really helped with possible scenarios explaining the misfires. its just freaking frustrating the more time drags on and i cant find the miss.

 

I ended up fixing my miss by replacing a brand new O2 sensor. I bought 2 new O2 sensors from gmpartsdirect.com when I installed the random tech Y pipe, and it started miss firing after that. I ended up solving it by replacing the driver's side O2 again!

Have you replaced your O2s yet?
