Car starts, sputters, and then dies...PLEASE HELP!
Hey guys, I have a 95 Trans am and yesterday when I was driving home from work, it started sputtering really bad, whenever I would press the gas it would do nothing and actually make it go slower, where if I didn't do anything it would idle along. I coasted into a parking lot and shut it off. Started it back up, and it starts, sputters for about 5-10 seconds, and then dies. Funny thing is if I press the gas AT ALL it immediately dies. Fuel pump was replaced 9 months ago. Any ideas? A friend of mine says it might be my fuel filter.

I did my cat 5k miles ago, was clogged and would not accelerate but that happened slowly over time, may be something to check tho. Good luck
Sounds like you are running out of gas tho, definately do a fuel filter if you have not recently

Hey man sounds alot like a lack of fuel concern. I would get a fuel pressure gauge on the rail and see what ya got. I'm not sure wht fuel pressure spec is but I'm sure you can dig it up somewhere. Dot go right to the fuel pump it could also be a clogged filter. Dont spend more money if you dont have to. But if you do happen to do the pump make sure you get a new filter with it and get a light down in the tank to make sure you didnt happen to clog the sock up or anything. If theres anything down in that tank clean it up so it doesnt happen again. Hope this helps ya. take care
