Today I was driving on city streets the car seemed to be running good. But when I seen the traffic light was about to turn red I gave it gas and then it started backfiring and spiting. So I let off the gas and it continued to spit and backfire I then shut the key off and rolled it in to a parking lot. I decided to pull the fuel rail and see if the injectors were firing. So I pulled the fuel rail and the injectors are firing but they arnt shooting very hard. I tested my fule pressure and it is 40psi when I turn the key on. I can here the fule pump turn on but I don't know if that is a guarantee its good. I dont think its the opti but who knows I did chande the opti less than 1,000 mials ago though. Any ideas?

 

It is the fuel pump. It makes a bad sound not like the normal sound. My next question is how much is the pump and how bad
is it to remove the tank?
