The Chiltons manual indicates that the length of the pintle from the tip to the mounting flange should be 1". "If the distance is greater than 1.102" use finger pressure to slowly retract the pintle".

Thanks, and this may be stupid, but could an exhaust leak at the y-pipe on one side have cause this temporary stall? I had 2 missing y-pipe bolts on the pass side, fixed a the day after I brought it home. I drove 13 miles to work with it leaking on that day, it only stalled after sitting for 4 hours.
