car shutting off!! need help!!

my car keeps shutting off while driving. it will start back up but shut off again after a peroid of time. sometimes it wont even shut off. would that be the opti slowly going out????? please help thanks

vortech s-trim, shortys,3.73s, 3000 stall, complete fuel system, rebuilt tranny.
