Question car shaking at higher speeds

Just changed the bottom end of my engine (big PITA, but now car runs very good). Been driving my car for a couple days and noticed one weird thing-my car starts shaking at around 85-90 mph. I took my engine out through the bottom, so I messed up my wheel alignment a bit, but my steering wheel doesn't shake at higher speeds, so I assume it is not wheel alignment. My guess is that my driveshaft is not balanced. I did have the transmission and driveshaft out of my car. I was wondering how hard it is to balance the driveshaft by myself, and if I can't do it by myself, what would be the best place to take my car in, somewhere around in Illinois.

Thanks
Tomas

Its more than likely the driveshaft. Most people just spend about $150 on a used aluminum drive shaft from a '98 or newer Fbody. Its a direct bolt in, drops a few pounds, and is balanced a ton better.

Maybe your wheel is out of balance... Just a thought.

But before I chanded my bottom end, my car would not shake until 130 mph. If I would get an aluminum driveshaft, wouldn't I still need to balance it?

You probably screwed something up. AGAIN.
No, you won't need to balance the driveshaft if you get an aluminum one. Sounds like something else's messed up though.
Where have you been hiding by the way?

true,my wheel might be out of balance, but should my steering wheel shake if I had a wheel out of balance?

Only if you have a front tire out of balance.

Yep, the rear wheels out of balance will not affect your steering wheel but will simulate a driveline vibration...
