Question Car running rich

My car is running very rich. I need to fix it but I don't know what to fix. The idle is a little rough too. Any help would be great.

LT1 Tech problems belong in LT1 Tech. Moving it there.....

How do you know its running rich? Under what conditions - idle, part load, WOT?. Have you ever had it scanned? Do you have data for the long term fuel corrections? Have you checked the EGR valve for leakage?

Any codes?SES light?.I am going to guess the O2 sensor is bad.How many miles on it?You really need to give as much info as you can in order to give us a clue.

The car has 119,000 miles. The ses light comes on sometime but not all the time. After I drive it I can smell heavy gas. I took it and had it looked at and all they told me was that it was running very rich. Do you think a tune up might do the job?

If you have original O2 sensors you should replace them anyway and it might fix the problem. Also check your cat. I am getting a strong fuel odor (running rich) and when I took it to meineke. They said it looked like the previous owner gutted the cat. I am going to put a new high flow in. Hopefully it helps
