Car is Running Bad

Well something is going on with my car. It's missing and the Check Engine light was flashing earlier.

It was about 2 weeks ago and my car was missing, so I changed the plugs out. I heard that the expensive Bosch 4 prongers known for fouling, so I replaced them with the AC Delco platinums. Keep in mind that I just put the Bosch's in earlier in the year when I put my headers on.

The car ran great for the past 2 weeks after I changed the plugs, now all of a sudden it's running terrible again.

Help me out guys. Is something else going on or is my car just eating plugs.

Thanks in advance for the help!

How did the plugs look when you removed them?

Most of them were a little white. Not too bad.

But a couple of them were black, almost grimey. (sp)

It could be your optispark unit. Its what our cars have instead of the old distributor. They are pricey($400-500) and a Pain to install.

Well I thought about that, but what was leading me away from that conclusion, was that when I change the plugs, it runs like a champ again.

Still optispark?

Maybe when you removed the plug wires one wasn't put on tight enough or is touching the exhaust which burnt one of them. If the plug was not tightened down correctly that might cause some issues. What code did you get?

if your opti is getting weak the new plugs may make up enough spark to fix the problem until they get a little old. after a little while they may lose a little bit of spark and that could be enough to cause it to run bad. is the exhaust strong with a fuel smell? i'd check the plugs again and see how they look. if some of them are black again it'll prove your running way rich

I'm not sure on the codes? I will have to check again.

I'm gonna remove the plugs tomorrow and see what they look like.

Thanks for your help.
