What is yor specific problem? If it's not engaging the starter and cranking the engine, or if the PCM is not getting the required fuel pump permit signal from the theft deterrent module (TDM), it could be a PASS-Key (VATS) problem. If that was the case, the “SECURITY” light on the dash should be on constantly, or flashing. Or you would have code DTC 46 set in the PCM (assuming you’re car is 93-95 V8). Newer models have a different code.

Or, is the problem that the engine randomly shuts off, as in the topic of this thread? That is seldom a VATS problem.

The post you quoted is not completely accurate.

What is the EXACT problem you are trying to solve? What is the year of your car? Is it in fact the LT1 engine? Hard to solve problems without that info.
