!!--Car Problems after storage and new plugs--!!

My car has been stored for the winter and I got it out today. I recently changed the plugs (NGK TR55 GP's Platinum) and changed the oil (K&N filter and Mobile 1 5w-30). Battery was unhooked for 1.5 days during plug install. And I started it every couple weeks and let it warm up.

The problem started really bad and slowly got better but not cured.

We went to get gas cause I was almost empty (We changed the fuel filter tonight also) and under a load the car felt like it had no power and wouldnt shift right or shift at all. Once it would get to OD it was hard to get it to downshift. The only way to get it to run right was to floor it.

I got gas came home and took a look. It was surging all over the place. So we check the wires and plugs and change the fuel filter. Nothing still surges. Then we check the intake elbow since I had it off during the plug install(i though I needed to get to the opti that way) We thought it was the IACV but have no way of checking it to my knowledge. We found that the elbow wasnt on completely and fixed that. Still surged. Thought maybe it was the computer trying to refind its idle, but not sure. So we took it and ran it hard for a while to try to get it warmed up...the more we drove it the better it got...but it still stumbles at low rpm and misses a bit. We can hear a tick or click in the valve train and it is noticable after a rev when the engine is winding down.

If you have any idea what the problem is please post. My car is right outside so if I need to try something please let me know.

Thanks a ton guys..I also have a cell phone that I'll be willing to call someone if I need a walk through.

Now the car just stumbles under load at low rpms 1000 to 2500. Misfires a bit at highway speeds and during regular traffic 25-40 is stumbles and kind of bucks.

Help if you can please, thanks a ton ahead of time.

Did you check the air filter? I had a car once in storage for about a year and it would start fine every couple mounths. Once out of storage it ran like sh**. Turned out my intake tube was being used for a mouse party. Had all kinds of crap in it. Worth a look??

It was a mix of faulty NGK plugs and the Optispark.

Runs like a champ now!
