Angry car overheating problem....

ok...my car has this problem where its rather fond of overheating while its idling...ive had this happen really bad at least 4 times now...i took it in to get fixed just yesterday, and they bled the lines for the coolant and all that...but i figured i might as well try to make my car run a lil cooler at idle, so maybe i can eliminate the problem before it has a chance to start...ive been looking at a couple options: the JET fan switch, the SLP fan switch, or some type of programmer...i was just wondering which would be the best choice??? the JET is the cheapest, but it seems that the SLP is more highly recommended, and of course the programming is the most expensive, but id get an actual power gain from that...ahhh...choices choices...i hate decisions...so any advice would be greatly appreciated...

are you sure your fan's are working? if your car is running at good op. temp while moving i'd check that the fan's are functioning properly...

ok...ill clarify what happened a little better....ok...this past saturday i was sitting in a parking lot and all of a sudden i see steam start pouring out of my hood...so i looked at the temp guage and it was sitting at right over the 210 mark...so i shut off the car, and opened my door, and the coolant had poured out of my car, and was in a huge puddle on the ground...so after the car cooled down, i checked under the car and found that one of the radiator hoses had popped off...of course, that is why all of the coolant leaked out...im not sure why the hose popped off...my first assumption was that the fans were not turning on, thus making the car overheat, and then the high pressure made the hose pop off, but then as i checked later, the fans are working fine...the mechanic shop thought that it was because there was possibly air in the lines, that was causing the overheating...im not positive that that was the problem considering this has happened 4 times now...and everytime it overheats it is when the car is idling...i dont know...they bled the lines supposedly "really well"...so hopefully it wont cause the same problem again...but either way, id like to do something about making the fans turn on earlier...i get freaked out every time my car hits 210...heh...

Same thing happened to me. I was sitting in a drive-thru when my car got really hot and steam was pouring out from underneath the hood. Took into the parking lot and all the coolant was shooting out of the filler cap. Earlier that week my low coolant light was on but had plenty of coolant. Had it flushed and put new in and works fine. We figured it was just an air pocket.
