Angry car overheated 4 times in 2 months....

i made a post about this not too long ago, but i had the same thing happen once again, only this time it was a little different...

i pulled into a parking lot and was sitting there for less than a minute when i noticed steam pouring out from under the hood again...i looked at the temp guage and it hadnt even hit the 210 mark! so, got under the car, and once again, the lower radiator hose had magically popped itself off. i have no idea why it keeps coming off...any ideas??? please help!!! thanks in advance....

i couldnt tell you why it would just pop off, i would replace it and replace the clamps holding it on... The factory clamps suck in my opinion, i always replace em with the nice screw clamps, havent had a hose fall off yet

yea use the screw clamps. and tighten them tight for it does not come off. in all the years of being on this board i've never heard of hoses poping off.

Perhaps it was just not on good or you have an obstruction in the system/sticking thermostat or maybe even the radiator cap is not allowing bypass when it should.

the radiator cap has been tested to make sure its working right...the thermostat was just replaced...and the hose has been reconnected 4 times....just seems odd to me that after 8 years, it randomly decides to start popping off...

check your coolant to see if you have oil in there and pray that you don't have a blown head gasket!! this happend to me last summer b/c my fans weren't working. overheating=bad for your motor. good luck

Did it do it before the thermostat was replaced? Perhaps you got a cranky new thermostat.

it did it once before the thermo was replaced...it seems to do it more often now...it kind of weirded me out because the first 3 times it did it, the steam would start pourin out and the temp guage would read waaay over 210...but the last time it did it, it never even hit 210...i thought maybe it kept overheating, and caused the hose to pop off cuz of all the pressure and what not, but it seems that its actually the opposite and the car is overheating because the hose pops off...last week i changed the clamp on the hose so im hoping it wont happen again, but i have a feeling it will...
