First thing to check when running rich is the oil contaminated with fuel. The very next thing to check is the air filter for dirt, over oiled or water soaked. Then check for dead cylinder(s). Change the oil if it does have fuel in it. If you have a dead cylinder, you know it has to be either spark or compression because it's rich. You can rule out fuel, but odds are it's spark related.

If you don't have any of those problems, it's time to check some things visually. Start easy and work your way hard. Pull the entire intake elbow off and see if there are any cloggs, voids or tears. You'll be amazed how many stock intake elbows you'll see rolled under at the throttle body. While you're there, check the MAF for contamination from an over oiled K&N and spray with break cleaner(while it's off and completely cold) if it needs cleaning.
