since i installed the cam in my car it has been leaking oil like a mother. i usually see alot of little drips in my driveway every morning when i go to work. oil is all over the bottom end and the underside of the car is coated with oil, front to back. what could cause this and how can i fix it? also last monday i got my chip back from PCMforLess and it was running like a champ, but now it has a bad miss throughout the rpm range. if im driving at like 50mph it pops and surges, overall it feels like its running on 7 cylinders. when i did the cam i replaced the opti with a used one with low miles, and running new NGK TR55's. i reused my msd wires and everything was running good up until thursday night that i noticed a small miss, but it got worse now. i just bought new wires cuz i thought it might be that. when i got under the car i noticed that the opti was full of oil, could that cause my car to miss real bad? any help is appreciated, cuz im low on $$ and dont want to replace things that arent needed.

 

You probally need a NEW optispark. That thing has to be just right or the car is crap. Also you really need to fix that oil lek which I am guessing is the timing cover gasket. While you replace that pop a new fronk main seal in place.

 

I agree with the above...figure out where the leak is coming from and plug it. Then unfortunatelly you'll need a new opti, it'll probably solve the problem. Check with Jason Cromer for it. Or you could go another route and get a Delteq. Had mine for a couple of months and no problems with it. Good Luck

 

well i went ahead and put on the msd wires and it runs pretty good. i felt a slight miss, but that's because i couldnt get one of the plug boots all the way into the spark plug. other than that everything seems fine. but when i was pulling into the driveway it smelled like antifreeze and sure enough the damn water pump hose sprung a pinhole leak opened the hood and there was a stream of water shooting out next to the TB. to tell you guys the truth this car is really starting to show its age and it makes me want to sell the car. either way im going to try and fix it over the weekend, and hopefuly in a few weeks i can get to the track. thanks for the help guys, and i still dread having to change/buy another opti.
