car missing bad

okay...on the way back to school yesterday, the car started shaking and misfiring very bad...almost like it dropped a cylinder...i had to keep it in 5th because 6th was making it work to hard and it would shake...has new plugs and wires 1500 miles ago...none are burnt...its been struggling to start up lately too...just turns over for about 4 sec. before it fires...i think its a bad cap and rotor...or mabye coil...i dunno...any thoughts?

possibly a coil...sounds like your opti may be toast...has it been missing any before it got bad? Like say a high RPM miss?

my ls1 was acting similar last week, and i tried an old trick to eliminate on possibility.

unplug the maf sensor.

it will go into limp home mode and if the sensor is bad it will run "relatively" normal...

simple and easy and it eliminates chasing ...give it a try
