car missing
I upgraded my engine to a 383 stroker and ever since we got it running it has been missing; high and low end. Mike did dicover that the electical wires going to the distributor had melted, he patche dand fixed those.
Now however the missing at low end has stopped and the car does fairly good, but when you floor the car and it clears 4500 rpm it starts to miss it again.
My conclusion is that it is a fuel problem. If you take the car up slow to 4500 rpm and so forth it doesnt miss. It only misses when the car is floored. The car does have a brand new fuel pump ordered from RK sport. Any suggestions?????

If you hit what seems to be a rev limiter at 4500, most likely your Optispark is going out. Mine was doing the same.
First, I had burnt wires from the header install. Changed them and low end miss was gone.
Second, I had a bad miss/hesitation at 3500 rpm. Turned out to be the Opti, it got wet while we were doing the cam swap. Another thing was it revs just fine in nuetral, under load it misses at 3500rpm.
Hope this helps.

Turned out to be the optical wheel in the distributor was bent.
Gotta love autozone parts.
