Ok the car is making a scarping noise (sounds like a metal fan would if it were rubing the radiator) It only makes it when i take off at a moderet pace. Dont do it when i take of slow or when i stomp on it. it starts at about 1500rpm and stops around 2000-3000. gets louder when i hit a bump. stops as soon as u let of or put it in N. Took the fans off the car still does it took the Belt off still does it. Could this be the water pump(Also what drives the water pump) or the opti-spark, or the smog pump(what drives the smog pump)? well thanks in advance for all the help.

 

Smog pump is electrical, water pump and opti are driven off the cam gear. If its coming from the front end, id guess maybe water pump/alternator bearing. Could even be a wheel bearing or brake pads/rotor? Possibly a broken flywheel?

 

yeah deff not the alternater took the belt off only think turning was the crank/balancer. Checked the flywheel it seemed to be fine. no visibal cracks and no sign of rubbing. could be a wheel bearing but it only does it when i take off at a moderet speed not when i just take it really slow. so i dont know.

Ok it also does it in reverse and when it hits bumps. If the smog pump is electric could i just unplug it to see if that is it? or could it even be the smog pump how does it work? is there any way to test to see if its the water pump or the OPTI? >>>>>>>> Please i need help ANYONE
