Car keeps dying
I wanna post my updates.
Did some test and no AC voltage coming out of the opti/coil, so decided to just yank off the msd opti that we put on about 2 years ago.
the rotor and cap area was clean and hardly looked used. so we keep pulling stuff. pulled the whole opti out then removed the rotor and plastic cover behind it and
oil / black gunky stuff all over the optical sensor, metal wheel.
also when we pulled it there was oil behind it coming out of the cam cover going into the opti and through the bearing of the msd opti into the optical sensor. either way the opti is done, it barely spins because the bearing is all messed up as well as oil soaked, electrical cleaner only cleaned it so good. I am pretty sure we installed the msd correctly and followed the instructions but something kinda went wrong over the past 2 years letting that oil inside it.
I am guessing the gasket was a. re-used and it went to crap, or b. it came off on the stock opti and we didnt even know there was one, however, I would assume he would of been losing alot of oil with no gasket in that area at all, which he wasnt. I also thought that the msd came with one but cant remember and also dont remember really anything in the instructions that talked about a gasket.
either way we are glad we had it traced down are just need to geting a new opti of some type and install it.

UPDATE::
After all it was the opti spark! my old one seemed to be just fine, upon taking it off. shook it around no rattles or anything but I'm going to open it up tomorow and see whats going on with it. But anyways it runs and will idle like a champ. No codes nothing of that sort. Thanks to all of your suggestions, they were much appreciated!!!
