I just got back from driving my car, opened the door and smelled coolant. It obviously came from the water pump and not from a busted hose. Should I even bother just replacing the gaskets and see if that's my problem or is it more than likely the pump that will need replaced?

 

You answered your own question...Seals shot on the pump.

 

Hope your opti's alright... I'd investigate and see why the seals went, if that's the case.
