Car Isn't Running Help

Ok one day my car starting missing at first I thought it was bad gas, so I just keep driving it. Than I was coming home one day and I heard a "pop" and my car died. I tow it home, and we still thinks its fuel problems, so we pull the filter to check it its ok. So we pull a wire from one of the plugs, no fire. So its either the optispark or the coil. Which is it most likely to be? And what are my other options besides an optispark, is there anything you replace it with, maybe something from MSD?

Re: Car Isn't Running Help

Definitely sounds like an optispark problem. If it has problems getting above a certain RPM that would be the dead give away, otherwise the tell tail sign is the plain miss fires.

You can get an MSD 6AL to go along with a new opti. MSD also makes optisparks.

See it was right the other thing when it was running. At low RPM it would miss but the more gas i give it and the RPMS went up it would start running better.

That's what happened when I got my opti wet.

It missed really bad below 2k rpm and above that it would clear up, but still had some misses. I waited till the opti dryed out and luckily it was fine, but if you didn't get yours wet then I'd say it's on its way out.

I would check the opti for any water or anything wet. If it's 100% dry then it is most likely going to die.

Does it have a loud clicking noise like someone is rapping metal against metal?
